Adding an Outlook Mail on the Web account’s emails (and folders) is easy in Mozilla Thunderbird.

Something New and Something Old

Why change, when what has worked still works? Email still works in Mozilla Thunderbird, and it works with Outlook Mail on the Web (and, of course Outlook.com), too.

Why not try something new, when what you know to work does not go away? Outlook Mail on the web will still be there and waiting for you even after you have set up Mozilla Thunderbird to access the same account.

What Outlook Mail on the Web POP and IMAP Access Get You

Especially if you set up Outlook.com in Mozilla Thunderbird as an IMAP account, you gain another way to read your mail, see and use all your online folders and send messages, of course—in a manner that automatically synchronizes with Outlook Mail on the Web and other email programs that access it using IMAP.

You can also create Outlook Mail on the Web as a POP account, though, which will download messages from your inbox in a simple manner—so you can act on them on the computer without having to worry about synchronization or online folders. POP access is also a straight-forward way to back up emails from Outlook Mail on the Web, of course.
