How to Access AOL Mail on can manage all of your email service accounts

If you have AOL as your email provider, you aren't limited to the AOL client or website when you want to check your messages. You can set up to access and download your emails from AOL. You can also reply or send messages from but while using your AOL email address and identity.

Accessing AOL Mail Through

Follow these steps to add your AOL email account to your email service to download incoming messages:

  1. Click the settings gear icon (⚙) at
  2. Select Connected accounts.
  3. Under Add a connected account, click Other email accounts.
  4. The Connect your email account window will open. Enter your AOL email address and your AOL password.
  5. Select the radio button for your choice to either create a new folder where all of your AOL messages will be routed or to have your AOL messages placed in an existing folder.
  6. Click OK.
  7. If these steps are successful, you will receive a message that your account is now connected to and your AOL inbox emails are being imported. This process can take awhile if you have a lot of emails to be downloaded. You are not required to stay on to wait for this process to complete; it will continue on the server, so you are free to close your browser and even turn off your computer. Click OK.

Your AOL email address will show in the Manage your connected accounts section. You will also see the status of the email import and the time of the last update. If you need to edit any of the details for your AOL account, click the pencil icon to open the details page and update information such as your AOL account password.

Your AOL email address will appear among your inbox folders on the left side of the mail page. Click it, and the messages you have in your AOL inbox will be shown in (but remember that your messages may still be importing and all may not appear there yet).

Sending Messages Using Your AOL Alias

You are able to send emails via your AOL identity in When composing a message, click the From address field and select your AOL email address.

If the From field is not visible (by default it is hidden), you will need to set it to be viewable. Do so by clicking the message options menu, which appears as three horizontal dots in the message menu, next to Discard. In the dropdown menu, click Show From. The From field will now be visible on your composed messages.

Setting AOL as the Default Outgoing Email Account can be set to use AOL as your default delivery account so that messages you send will come from your AOL account. Your AOL email address will appear in the From field by default.

To change your default outgoing email address to your address:

  1. Click the Mail Settings icon in the top bar (it looks like a gear).
  2. Click Connected accounts from the menu.
  3. In the Connected accounts window, under the From address, click Change your From address.
  4. In the window that appears, click the dropdown menu and select your AOL email address.

Email replies to messages you send from using your AOL account will go to your AOL account, and they will appear in when they are imported.
